San Francisco, CA - Police are reporting there may be as many 600 marijuana plants at a home in the city's Sunset District that caught fire this afternoon.

The house was unoccupied and it appears it was used solely for cultivation, San Francisco police Officer Maria Oropeza said today.

Fire investigators have determined the one-alarm blaze at 3220 Lincoln Blvd. started in an electrical panel, fire Capt. Pete Howes said today.

The fire department received word of the blaze at 12:55 p.m.

Police were called shortly thereafter to assist with the marijuana discovery.

Investigators are waiting for a warrant so they can conduct a more thorough search of the home, Oropeza said.
