Germination - Help Please!

After a difficult time getting seeds to germinate I finally changed the variables in got one to drop a taproot. I put it in the ground two days ago where the taproot was down and the top of the seed was nearly flush with the soil. Now, it's about 1 inch out of the ground but the seed hull is still around the top and the cotyledons are not pushing out. What should I do? What can I do to prevent this from happening again if necessary?

im not a vet but what i can tell you is all the plants iv been growing(indicas) i have let um germ straight in the soil if there not duds they should break soil within 2 to 3 days. at least thats how it is for me....are they bag seeds your using?

Just gently push the seed hull off with a toothpick or something. It happens sometimes, no big deal.
