Prominent trial lawyer John Morgan, who is sponsoring the consitutional amendment to legalize medical marijuana in Florida, will state his case for the issue tonight in a debate at the University of Tampa that is open to the public. Morgan, who says he has spent $4 million to get the issue on the Nov. 4 general election ballot, will make his points starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Martinez Athletics Center.

Admission is free, but seating is limited. Morgan will be joined by Allen St. Pierre, executive director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws. They will face off against Eric Voth, M.D., chairman of the Institute on Global Drug Policy, and Kevin Sabet, director of the Drug Policy Institute at the University of Florida. This is the second medical marijuana debate hosted by DisJointed, a pro-medical marijuana UT student group.
