Looking for a good tutorial for making oil

I've seen the youtube videos for making oil using a plastic bottle and butane and cooking the results, but I've been told that's the wrong way to do things.

I was told you should use a glass container, butane and there is supposed to be more to it than just cooking off the excess.

Also, I'm not clear as to how to make oil vs wax and how to know when you've cooked off the butane.

I'm also not sure how to store the product, do you buy glass jars and store them in a fridge and is it affected by light?

Do you use everything that's not a stem or fan leaf?


If someone could explain or point me to a good video that shows the whole process, how to cook off the results and how to store afterwards.

I saw everything from butane in a plastic bottle to boiling with everclear.

Someone told me a local smoke shop had a glass version of the plastic soda bottle made just for this.

Local guy says just use a glass jar (canning jar). Punch two holes in it the size of a butane tip. place coffee filter over the top, place product in filter, spray with butane.

Only concern is that some say butane has health concern and EverClear would be better.

Sounds simple.

However, I've heard that if you remove all the butane, there's little/no problem, but I don't really know much about it.
