The city has signed a letter of non-opposition with a second medical marijuana dispensary to open in Worcester.

City Manager Edward Augustus, Jr. announced in a press release Wednesday that he'll be providing the letter to the Prime Wellness Centers looking to open on 0 Pullman St.

Earlier this month, Augustus signed a similar letter for Good Chemistry to locate a dispensary at 9 Harrison St. The letter of non-opposition is needed in order to submit a phase three siting profile to the state's Department of Public Health

Prime Wellness Centers signed a community host agreement and will agree to pay Worcester $450,000 over three years, plus an escalating percentage of gross sales. It's the same agreement signed with Good Chemistry.

The second dispensary plans to contribute $10,000 annually to public charities or causes.

The city has agreed to approve no more than four medical marijuana dispensaries and no more than one in any neighborhood.

Prime Wellness Centers is also planning to open a medical marijuana dispensary in Shrewsbury at 235 Hartford Turnpike.
