LAREDO, Tx.- A resident of Falcon Heights, Texas was arrested by Border Patrol agents for transporting 790 kilograms of marijuana in a truck.
Juan Antonio Tovar tried to hide in some brush as he abandoned a Ford F-350 truck, but was located thanks to a trained canine.
Reports indicate that the seizure was made on FM 2050, about 12 miles south of the Border Patrol boothes.
Federal agents decided to follow a truck after it circulated the area a few times. Minutes later the truck was reported abandoned.
When Immigration officials arrived they found 216 plastic packages that contained 790 kilos of marijuana with a value of 1.4 million dollars.
Tovar received possession charges with the intent of delivering a cargo of marijuana
