Il - An East Moline man faces charges relating to two marijuana grow labs discovered and dismantled by police in the past week.

James H. Peters, 52, has been charged with manufacture and delivery of cannabis, a Class 3 felony, and possession of cannabis plants, a Class 2 felony. He was released after posting $10,000 bond.

A news release issued this morning by East Moline police said the investigation began Friday night when an East Moline patrol officer conducted a traffic stop involving a vehicle Peters was driving. Marijuana was found in the vehicle, leading to a search of Peter’s residence at 3651 8th St., East Moline. Officers found a grow lab there, and they seized evidence and dismantled the lab.

Then on Monday, police searched a mobile home used by Peters at 830 1st Ave., Lot 12, East Moline. The trailer was “a sizable cannabis grow lab,” the news release said. East Moline police and the Quad-Cities Metropolitan Enforcement Group seized evidence and dismantled the lab.
