Marijuana May Go To A Vote – Again

Voters will decide in November 2014 if Alamosa County gets caught up in the retail marijuana racket.

The Alamosa County Commissioners (ACC) passed the first retail marijuana ordinance reading on Wednesday during their regular meeting, which places the question of prohibiting marijuana operations including cultivation, production and testing facilities and retail stores located in the county in front of electors.

If the ACC approves the second retail marijuana ordinance reading later this month, it will remain in effect until next fall when the ballots are counted.

Although Alamosa County voted in favor of Amendment 64, the state initiative legalizing recreational marijuana use, in 2012, the ACC are asking the community to step up to the polls again.
