The Colorado Cannabis Convention – a two-day marijuana trade show held over the weekend at the Colorado Convention Center – drew more than 12,000 people, according to one estimate.

Convention Center event staffers, using hand-held counters to track people coming and going, came up with a total of 12,674 people, said Convention Center spokesman Greg Lowry.

Cannabis Convention organizer Michael Lerner said Wednesday he is still tallying up ticket sales but said the convention was a success.

Lerner had previously said he hoped to draw 100,000 people to the event, which would have made it by far the largest event held at the Convention Center. The Colorado Garden & Home Show and the Great American Beer Festival each draw about 50,000 people, over nine and three days, respectively.
