California - A report on the budget, a proclamation honoring a leader in the mental health field and — a presentation on the benefits and negative site effects of medical marijuana for psychiatric disorders?
All three will be heard by the Mental Health Board on Wednesday.
Mental Health advocates worry that the budget discussion could be an ugly one, what with all of the department cuts Public Health is expected to take.
On a more positive note, Belinda Lyons, executive director of the Mental Health Association, is being honored for nine years served there.
And then, of course, there's the medical pot presentation. Dr. Jean Talleyrand Medicann will be presenting the benefits of the medication for people suffering psychiatric disorders, while Dr. Pablo Stewart will be discussing the negative side effects of the treatment.
Public comment will be allowed.
