A 33-year-old Pittsboro man was charged Sunday night with growing marijuana and trafficking it from a house in Raleigh, and a 21-year-old woman from Cary was arrested on the same charges early Monday.

Records show that police arrested Jonathan Luke Johnson at the house at 1928 Sierra Drive, just off Lake Wheeler Road, about 8 p.m. Sunday.

Officers said in an arrest warrant that he had between 50 and 200 pounds of marijuana, a range that determines a level o felony under state law.

About 4:40 a.m. Monday, police arrested Tyra Shai Crayton-Finch at the house, records showed.

Johnston, who gave police an address of 206 Box Turtle Road in Chatham County, and Crayton-Finch, who said she lives at 104 Pointe Crest Court in Cary, were each charged with trafficking by growing marijuana, trafficking by possession of it, maintaining the Sierra Drive house to keep and sell drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In arrest warrants, police said the two had material in which to grow plants, plastic bags and "extensive growing equipment."
