Old timer needs new advise.

Hi all. Great site.

Haven't grown for more than 20 years so I've forgotten a lot of stuff.
Here's a couple of queries.

Firstly, I have some nice and clean 5 gallon buckets that I want to grow in.
They come from me painting roofs. They've had acrylic paint in them that I rinse straight out making them spotless.

What should I use to wipe them out with to make sure there sterile.

Also, if I put some veg into 24 hours, am I able to reduce to 18 later without causing problems, or should I just leave at 24?

The reason I'm asking is that I'm about to put some seedlings in and my mate has some outdoor that's just started to flower that I want to add with them.

Any advice would be greatly appritiated.

Clean the buckets inside and out with a sanatizing bleach solution (1 capful of bleach/gallon of water), rinse well and let dry.

You can pretty much change the lighting schedule to whatever you want at any time during vegging but it's best to keep the dawn time consistent throughout the grow.
