SPRING HILL: A couple was arrested Friday on charges of operating two marijuana growing operations at two separate residences.

Isela Gonzalez-Ruiz, 36 and Nguyen Antuna, 44 were charged with owning/renting a structure to traffic a controlled substance, cultivation of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after Hernando County Sheriff deputies conducted a search at both the defendant's homes and found marijuana growing operations at both.

According to both arrest reports, deputes searched 3523 Plaza Ave., owned by Ruiz, and found a false wall that hid a room containing power lights commonly used for marijuana growing. A stem from a marijuana plant was found and tested positive for the drug.

Antuna admitted to staying at the residence and deputies found some of his mail there for his residence at 1447 Algood Road, Spring Hill. A search warrant was acquired and deputies found 47 marijuana plants.

Lights located at Antuna's residence were also identical to those at Ruiz's.

Ruiz was later arrested after she returned to her home at Plaza Ave.

Both were taken to Hernando County Jail and held on $15,500 bond.
