A second cannabis farm with hundreds of plants has been discovered in Redcar .

Redcar Town Neighbourhood Police Team raided a business unit on Friday.

More than 250 plants were found at the unit on South Gare Court, Tod Point Road.

A male escaped through a skylight but was later found and detained.

The farm has now been dismantled.

A Facebook post sent by Redcar Town NPT thanked the member of the public who made the call.

Police are reminding anyone who has information about similar farms to call 101.

The discovery comes just 24 hours after a different cannabis farm was found nearby, with a street value of around £700,000.

The haul was found at a house on Henry Street, Redcar, on Thursday at around 1.50pm.

Consisting of around 700 plants, the farm was hooked up to the mains electricity supply using underground cables.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis.

He was charged and appeared at Teesside Magistrates' Court on Friday.

It was initially thought that 500 plants made up the Henry Street farm, but after extensive investigations, more than 700 were discovered.
