When should I flush?

I understand that most people say to flush with 2 weeks remaining before harvest. However, I have found that my plants take up nutrients at a very fast rate. If I wait 4 days instead of my normal 3 between waterings, some of the leaves will have already started to turn yellow and wilt. This makes me think that I should flush only 1 to 1.5 weeks before harvest. Can anyone give me advice on this? And is it harmful for plants at the end of harvest to be just sitting with yellow leaves for a week?

1 week is plenty to flush. Yellow leaves in the last week shouldn't be an issue.
