A woman who was delivering medical marijuana near San Diego's borders with La Mesa and Lemon Grove was shot in the face with a pellet gun and carjacked, San Diego police said Saturday.

The 23-year-old woman stopped her car, a white 1998 Chevy Malibu with California license plate number 6JAR664, in the vicinity of 69th and Livingston streets when she was approached by two men, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

One of the men grabbed the woman by her head and tried to pull her out of the car's driver side, as the other, who was on the passenger side, fired several shots from a pellet gun, Stafford said. The woman was struck in the face by at least one of the pellets, Stafford said.

The victim was pulled from the car and ran away as the suspects drove away in her car, Stafford said. The woman refused medical treatment for the pellet injury, he said.

The victim initially told officers she knew the suspects, but later said she did not know them, Stafford said. She also would not say how much marijuana was inside the stolen car.

The suspects were both described as Hispanic men between 25 and 30 years old. One was about 6 feet tall and 250 pounds and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and shorts. The other had on a brown hooded sweatshirt, blue shorts, white knee-high socks and slippers.
