Fayette Couty - Police often rely on hidden compartments to yield stashes of illegal drugs – meant to be trafficked by dealers once the loads make their way across the Mexican border. The hidden compartment for Fayette County Sheriff's officials in this case turned out to be the key to a massive load of marijuana inside a toilet vacuum service truck, driven by 42-year-old Jose Navarro, of Laredo.

Sheriff Keith Korenek says the Fayette County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Canine Unit stopped the truck on a traffic violation around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday on Interstate 10 at the 659 mile-marker. Sheriff's officials were apparently tipped off that something wasn't right after speaking to Navarro, and they asked to search the truck.

Authorities removed the lid to the vacuum tank on the bed of the truck and saw the tank was full of marijuana bundles. Unloading the vacuum tank yielded 1,495 pounds of marijuana.

Navarro is charged with possession of marijuana.
