Supreme Court Recognizes Marijuana´s Medical Benefit

The Croatian Supreme Court has recognized marijuana as a substance effective in helping people deal with so-called post traumatic stress syndrome.

The court has overturned the conviction of a man named as K.D. from the northern town of Virovitica. He was sentenced to three years in prison by the regional court in Virovitica for growing marijuana plants and possessing 67.71 grammes of marijuana.

The daily newspaper Vecernji List has reported that the Supreme Court took into consideration that the man was a war veteran with post traumatic stress syndrome and had grown marijuana only for his personal use.
