North Carolina is in a position to create opportunities for our state's farmers, especially due to recent restrictions placed on tobacco farmers. We are currently funding programs to protect our state's farmland to preserve our lands traditional history.
Allowing NC farmers the opportunity to grow industrial hemp will make hemp affordable to American manufacturing companies interested in the production of hemp products. Hemp is quite useful, being able to create thousands of different consumer products from food to fabric, fuel to construction material.
Waste from construction sites is the number one most polluting factor in our nation. Industrial hemp products are bio-degradable, thus eliminating the need for land fills. Hemp coins the term going 'green' and will set our generation up for a natural planet.
Be sure to pick up education on the useful hemp crop at Charlotte Hempfest, September 20th, 2009. Starts at noon.
