Good question.

"Drench" refers to the method of application of a product, IE foliar, root drench, top dress, etc. We top dress Re-charge and worm castings, we foliar feed Brix and DeStress and we drench with Transplant, Cat drench, GE, etc.

Instead of top watering in veg, I find better results if I let the container sit in water, perhaps 3/4 as deep as the container, for 5 minutes or so. This will saturate the medium, wicking into every nook and cranny.

Once in bloom, go ahead and use the SWICK or a combination of top watering and bottom watering, in order to keep the whole pot kinda moist...not wet. Very similar to what you do already.

We want to focus growth of roots, thick stems and few leaves in veg. This will leave the plant better able to bloom vigorously.
