I've been struggling to find the ideal (for me) nutrient syringe for my setup.
My requirements are simple, basically:
- Measure from about 5ml --> 40ml
- Fit in the spout of nutrient solution bottle
- Long enough to pull nutes from the bottom of a litre nutrient bottle/jug
I bought a number of them:
My evaluation of these 3:
- The big one is just too big (not granular enough) for my needs. I'm operating on a small scale and it's not easy to dial in per ml measurements with this beast.
- The medium one is just the perfect size for me; up to 35ml. However its too wide to fit inside the nutrient bottle so I had to add a tube to fit into the bottle. This is less than ideal as the tube itself holds about 8ml... I can make this work, but would prefer to not need a tube.
- The small one is the perfect diameter it fits right into the nutrient bottle. However its not long enough to reach the bottom of the bottle so it's not useful for nutrients which have more than 1/2 of the solution used.
Why can't someone just make a long version of the small syringe above? It would be perfect - say 8" long and the same diameter... Would fit right into the nute bottle, to the bottom and would still be granular enough to measure per ml.

Finally found something that's working well for me.
I took the 35ml syringe and instead of using PVC tubing I used fuel line tubing (not sure the exact name). This tubing is very stiff and thus is much straighter than the PVC based tubing -- makes it easy to get the very last drop in a nute bottle. Moreover the tube only holds 3ml so can be used for even small feedings.
I still use the small 8ml syringe, but I reserve it for use only with in applying PH up / down.
