HYDROPONICS is simpler and doesn't smell like soil.

I tried soil however the smell was gross.
Indoor growing I think HYDROPONICS is better for me.

I would love to grow outside in the soil however not in the cards!

Ok Here we go... In the blue corner weighing in at 20 pounds dripping wet is the Prince of Pot- Hydro. He will be going toe to toe in the red corner against the Duke of Dirt- Soil Grow. I can't even count the number of kitchen tables I have sat at and listened to this debate. Here's is how it falls out in my opinion

Hydro Grow
Pro's- Quicker
More uniform results
Yields can be bigger over the course of a year as you can flip more crops.

Con- More expensive to set up initially
More labor intensive and less forgiving of errors
Usually less yield per grow, although recent advances in systems and techs are narrowing the gap

Soil Grow
Pros- Less expensive initially to set up
Less labor intensive more forgiving
Quieter- no pumps running water flowing
Generally a higher yield per grow but less grows per year unless you have a perp system going
Cons- Takes longer to harvest
Can't do as many grows per year generally speaking
Can be messier and more insect prone during the warm months in barn grows
I should also add that there is an advantage in being able to move soil grown plants around easier IF we are comparing it to fixed hydro grow systems. It is one of the reasons that i like my bucket hydro set up.

The big debate ,that I believe is really a matter of personal preference, is flavor and genetic potential of the high. It is a perpetual debate that I don't think will ever have a clear winner. But it sure has gotten me stoned at alot of kitchen tables as friends try to convince each other that theirs is better tasting or effecting!! I love these debates!
