baylinner,
I think if you have any hope of them holding themselves up you will need to get stronger fans on them immediately, blowing enough wind to the point that it is rocking the leaves back and forth along the top of most of the canopy, but not so much that it's a wind tunnel or drying out...
Your plants look great. Remember, some strains, particularly sativa, will triple their growth after starting flowering. My personal experience is that the last 2 or 3 weeks is when most of the fattening of the buds happens. I say keep on doing what you're doing!
I don't think it's technically possible for the plant to become a male, but what happens is when an otherwise perfectly normal female becomes stressed to the point of thinking she may not make it to the end of the season, she will "hermie" (turn into a hermaphrodite) which means to have both sex...
Anybody got any tips on flushing miracle grow soil? The kind with the time released nutrients. Obviously the true solution is to not use any MG or time-released nutes in the first place, but someone just HAD to do an experiment so the damage is done. Viable buds are ready to be harvested, but...
I think this is a great idea. I thought of doing the same myself with maybe some Kool Seal? It says it reflects over 90% so I can't see how you can go wrong with
Mylar does indeed reflect about 85% of heat, as well as up to 90-95% of light. Be careful of hot spots both on your plants and behind the mylar. Make sure to install it flush with the surface. Good luck!
I would strongly recommend against using mirrors. Not only are they not very reflective of light (like 50% compared to mylar or white paint's 85%), and easily breakable, but most dangerous of all is the fact they even the slightest imperfection in the glass can create hot spots not only on your...
Hi,
I personally cannot attest to what you are asking, as I have never tried it myself. However, I do know what the results would be, and I figure I would give you an answer since no one else has yet.
If you were to use 12/12 from seed, the plant would think it has sprouted in late fall and...
Wow, great grow for a newbie!
I think your plants look great, maybe a little skinny, but they have a long ways to go. They're still nice and young and green, and will probably put on most of their weight towards the last few weeks.
Keeping the lights closer to the plants would help with the...
In one of my most recent grows I grew two plants. One produced pistols within 48 hours of switching to 12/12, but the other didn't. After two weeks the other one started producing what looked like small sacs. Once it was obvious they were seeds or nanners, my wife started picking them off as...
Also, in regards to strength of the bud, I think that is probably not true. While it is well known that any type of trimming or cutting of the plant will require at least SOME healing time, if done properly, once the plant has healed, it will continue growing as it would have with the same...
As someone who used to be a firm believer in the whole "no topping and minimal cutting to prevent slow growth " thing, I have recently switched over to topping in the past few grows and I would like to share my experience with you.
Previously, I either grew plants normally (vertically) or used...
I think the best thing you could do in this situation, since you asked, would be to invest in a cheap timer. I have found digital to be the most reliable. You can get them at Wal-Mart for less than $5: Workchoice Daily Timer Single Polarized Outlet - Walmart.com
There is no better investment in...
Your plants look really good and healthy to me... I've noticed two of the main contributing factors to getting smaller buds like that when lighting and everything else was sufficient was always
1) switching to flower too early, when the plant was too small
2) not having a big enough pot, with...
Looks like a pretty healthy plant to me.
I noticed it doesn't look like you have much perilite in your soil. Could be just my eyes though. Is your soil the correct type for the plant you are growing?
