That's fine too. Canna may cause you lockouts and deficiency no matter what your tap water is. I stopped using it a decade ago because of that. However I've used water with 0.9ec with no problems. Just take your base nute to 1.7ec instead. It's unlikely you will need to run calmag with a...

How to grow in Coco: Feed schedule

0.3-0.4 ec absolutely is a thing. Are you getting confused with ppm? Ppm aren't a unit that's used outside of North America very often.

0.3 is perfect starting point. Onky add 0.1ec calmag then bump ec to 1.5 with canna A+B. Canna are really chappy nutes but if you on the ball with ec then it can be OK. Just watch for yellowing of leaves as it's common with canna base nute.

Never add h202 to your coco, unless you are staying sterile but it won't serve you well. If you have done this add beneficial microbes to rebalance and get great root health. Great white myco or voodoo juice or roots excellerator will do wonders or a combination of any of them.

I wouldn't use the tin foil over the media for several reasons. But most of all I can see it burning the leaves from bounce back from the light. The underside of the leaves are really delicate and if you must cover the surface just use plastic. I never found the need to cover the tops of pots...

How to grow in Coco: Feed schedule

If your staring water is good at 0.3-0.4ec then finish at 1.0ec on starting. I run my schedules of starting at 0.3-0.4ec. But some use ro water and add calmag to somewhere in that level. Total nutrient shouldn't really get higher than 1.8ec at any point if running ro water or have a starting...

That should be fine. I've had starting water of 0.9ec in Spain and I grew some of my best plants with that water. I'd just bump ec 0.1 with calmag, can always add more if needed. I like to use the minimum amounts. You won't need to readjust pH. 5.3 is fine. I set my pH once per week when I...

Normally in coco you don't really need to add calmag when using tap water as most water companies add calmag to their water, at least in Europe anyway. But led puts more demand for it. There is science behind it but without complicating things you should always add calmag when growing under...

Hi. Make sure you feed nutrients every day. This is the biggest mistake people do with coco. In veg the pH can be as low as 5.2 and plants like it lower unless you are using a product like AN PH Perfect then it's not as important. Don't worry about your run off. Just feed in the region of...

How to grow in Coco: Feed schedule

I'm sorry I'm not around much these days and so many unanswered questions. As for the 0.4ec water, you should be able to skip on calmag if not growing under led. If you are just bump ec up to 0.5ec with calmag. This thread was designed to get you started as new growers. Of course as you...

How to grow in Coco: Feed schedule

Don't stress. Just don't allow the coco to dry out. When you get to the last 10-7days just give water. A little run off is enough. Too much in a hand fed run to waste runs the risk of bud rot if too much humidity rises in the room. And the bud rot starts internally not can be tricky to spit...

How to grow in Coco: Feed schedule

How is this funny? If you read carefully I said when HAND WATERING ONCE PER DAY, as that is what many newer growers do. When I say saturated I mean not sitting soaking wet in a tray with run off. Its impossible to over water coco when it runs away. Would have been more polite to ask why I...

Why organic nutrients do not work in coco

I'm going to have to disagree old friend. Although amazing results can me made from soil, certainly not my expertise, like for like environments with same veg times and using clones from the same mother the difference would be noticeable. However its irrelevant really. The important thing is...

Why organic nutrients do not work in coco

As you said this is your first grow. I still remember my first grow in 1999, I wanted to do everything. Although I didn't have the access to information that is available now and made many errors. If you want to be organic just grow in soil. If you want fast growing, high yielding plants...

Adding mycorrhizae, trichoderma, fulvic and humic acid to coco

have a look at my 'how to grow in coco' thread. All the info you need is there. Its the best medium to grow in by far. Very simple and forgiving once you understand the basics. Its very different from soil, its hydroponic medium. Ive probably grown 40000 plants in coco now and for me its...
