Actually the overflow on the ebb fitting of the ebb and flow fitting set might do a better job of controling excess water from a pump that don't shut off...or whatever. Cost would be zero dollars.

Greendreamin, The overflow sounds like a good idea. How do you attach the PVC to the concrete tray to have no tank leak. I don't see a fitting at Home Depot to do this. I would think that it might be like a bulkhead fitting. Pleaseexplain.

I have a couple of questions, before I get started. I don't see a lot of long time growers using this, and how secure is thiis site.

I'm going to give this a try. I bought the large 2 X 3 concrete mixing tray from Home Depot, egg crate from Lowes, ebb and flow fittings from the Hydro place, and a black flip front storage container from WalMart. I just need to build a shelf, and get a water pump, an air pump and hose.

Thank you for your reply. Sorry I wasn't more descriptive of the growing conditions. There are no male plants in the area, just female plants in an indoor hydroponic grow room. The grow room is adjacent to my bedroom. I am starting the bloom stage, and will be using disposable plastic gloves...
