Does latitude effect flowering times for different outdoor strains?

Like the others have said, interesting question. The length of daylight will be different at different latitudes and at different times of the year. The closer to the equator the less of a difference. Daylight hours may vary from 11 hrs in the winter to 13 hrs in the summer. However, the closer...

Should We Add a Reputation System?

Reputation system: From my perspective it kinda already exists. It appears in the threads as members chime in. Members agree, disagree, point out flaws, explain, give links, acknowledge other member's advice, etc. I think a member seeking advice has a responsibility to weigh what members...

What do you call Day 1?

I don't soak my seeds. Day 1 for me is when I plant the seed. This is the point when the plant starts to swell and grow. I also note the day when it breaks ground and number it 1st, 2nd, etc. I mark the first flowering date as the day the lighting schedule is changed to 12/12.

    Droopy girl: water?

At that time I had little experience growing cannabis. I began to grow through a friend who had friends that grew hydroponically. The knowledge can from the growers via my friend. They knew what they were doing and I was a sponge. Back then the knowledge of how to grow cannabis was not...

    Droopy girl: water?

As plants respire they give off moisture like we do. My guess is they give off less water and therefore the environment isn't quite as humid as it would otherwise be. And maybe the buds have less water so the mold doesn't find it hospitable. The plants never exhibited stress so I don't think...

    Droopy girl: water?

You're right. With sufficient airflow one shouldn't get bud rot. I was told to cut back on the watering during the flowering stage about thirty years ago and have never had bud rot. Back then I was growing Afghani which was very thick and full. I grew 4 plants at a time in a 4' x 4' x 4' space...

    Droopy girl: water?

You've done a great job to get her to this point; she looks great like a cultivated Christmas tree. Full, beautiful color and flawless. I should say almost flawless because we're human and non of us are perfect. Cannabis can be very finicky when it comes to watering. The number 1 problem...

    Droopy girl: water?

One more point. We think about what plants need and we try and provide them. One thing most people may not realize is the roots need air. Watering will eliminate air from the soil. Keeping the soil wet will suffocate the roots. The soil has to dry a bit so air returns. Getting this cycle correct...

    Droopy girl: water?

Hi Canachris, I've reread this thread and believe the problem and solution is evident. Post #1 - Dec 19 Monday You've identified a problem - droopy - and seeking help. Four days after the last watering she is still kinda heavy to lift. Post #3 - Dec 19 If she was overwatered then another...

    Droopy girl: water?

"The first and most easy to identify sign of magnesium deficiency in cannabis plants is the leaves showing a worrying fade of green to pale green to yellow." "In the early stages of Mg deficiency, cannabis plants will exhibit stunted growth when compared to plants with adequate Mg. Chlorosis...

    Droopy girl: water?

"And you've got red stems which is a sign of magnesium deficiency..." That's incorrect. Red stems might be a sign of magnesium deficiency. Genetics and/or cold weather are possible causes as well. If red stems were evident at germination then genetics; if red stems began developing recently with...

    Droopy girl: water?

Nice looking plant Canachris. I don't see any damage to the leaves so I doubt she's in danger from the cold. If cold was a problem then I would expect to see some leaf damage or color change. Indicas can handle pretty cold conditions and cold can cause some purple colors to show up or darkening...

    Seed storage time

There are three variables in storing seeds; temperature, humidity and light. The cooler, dryer and darker the better. A fridge provides an excellent environment. The first step is to make sure the seeds are dry before storing otherwise, the seeds may rot. I spread seeds out on a surface out of...

Mutant plant - stems covered in trichomes

I had a similar flowering pattern with a Malawi Gold. It never formed buds but rather grew flowers at every node. It had trichomes on the stems but not as heavily endowed as your WW. I harvested mine by scraping the stem with a pair of notched scissors. I had an electrician's wire stripper as...
