There are some doctor's offices that will not check residency, others do. I got my card from Compassionate Health who only required a photo ID (passport, bank card, etc.) and proof of CA residency (ultility bill, lease, etc.) - which you can have the same day you sign a lease for your apartment...

As a new grower, I've been looking at the CA laws quite a bit. SB420 outlines the "baseline" limits with provision for greater amounts based both on county and doctor's recommendation. I think wisdom dictates that you understand the county you live in and it's level of "openness" to cultivation...

Some 20+ years ago I got some seeds from a neighbor and with no knowledge of anything, successfully sprouted 8 of 12 seeds. Had beautiful little shoots growing when my light fell down on top of everything and burned it all to heck. I've been growing real vegetables ever since, but its time...
