The space I use is 2m x 2m that comes to just over 6' x 6' with lights covering 1m/Sq in center, they won't grow out of that 1m/Sq by much as they will be going for the light, but in 2.5 x 2.5 with a light that can cover 2.5+ Sq/ft you would have branches going everywhere :-)

If you have access to collect rain water you would be better off, I tested water run from roof through polyester filter only with 25ppm or less and straight rain water in the harvester has 5ppm or less.

It doesn't make sense what's happening with you, I switch from cfl to hps and I have a huge increase on trichs and stronger buds. Something else is going wrong I would think. Heat would be the first thing I check.

Finally I'm 95% silent, need some acoustic ducting and should be all done, 2 new tetra silent pumps, no sound at all even standing next to them :-) fan mounted directly on filter and silencer directly behind the fan, ducting to cooltube then out the tent :-)
