    Home made power LED lights

3 weeks into my second run, this time they are just a bit bigger, but next time I'm going to give them 5 more days of vegging. I think that will be just about perfect. Everything is running good, and my temps never get much more than 87 deg. So far so good.

    Home made power LED lights

I have a home made eb and flow system, so they are watered twice a day, once at light on, one about 8 hours later. The plants are in 4" net cups, and the tubes they are in are full of clay rocks as well. I have thought about going to once a day for watering, but I like to draw in some air to the...

    Home made power LED lights

Well tally is in. Just as I thought I came up short, but shorter than I was expecting. I only got 13 OZ. A lot of the buds didn't get very firm, but some did. I wonder why some did, and some did not. One thing I noticed was the roots, they didn't fill the tubes like with the HPS lights. Up until...

    Home made power LED lights

jammeja I was thinking about your use of a 12V 10A supply. Once you start a line at 1A you have to use the whole 12V, so you have released 12 watts no matter how you use it, and you don't have a current regulator, just a voltage regulator, so you have to control the current with a resistor. This...

    LED set-up that equals HID?

You don't have to look far to see what I mean by wall to wall LED's. Just look up some of there web sights, and look at the footprint of coverage, and remember they will make it a little wider than most people find really does work, but then when side by side there will be some crossover. If...

    Home made power LED lights

First thing is the yellow, the whites will cover that spectrum for you, so you can drop them as well as the 360/365nm UV's, that is UV A, if you do use them use them very sparingly. Do go strongest on the red 660. As for your power supply, and all the LED's breaking over at more than 6V you'll...

    Home made power LED lights

there must be more than 1 led on a board correct? That power supply will not go far, you can run 10 lines at 1A each, and if each LED chip has a break over voltage of let's just say 3 volts you can only have 3 in a line and you have to drop the rest of the voltage across a power resistor. If...

    LED Lighting

Just my opinion wizgrow. Did you check out my pictures on my home made power led thread, that's on a SCROG as well. I've tried out my lights without the lenses, and with the lenses. There is not just a difference, but a big difference. I have seen pictures of Mars units, and I don't think they...

    Home made power LED lights

Sorry superK20, but you may have wasted your money there. I don't know anything about the lights you bought, so I can't help you out from here on why they are blowing the breaker, but that's not why I say you wasted your money. The reason is that white LED's by themselves do not grow anything...

    LED set-up that equals HID?

From what I've heard try to think of it per Sq. Ft. and the general rule of thumb seems to lie someplace between 30 to 50 W per SQ FT. The other thing I've been reading is kind of a 2/3 type of figuring so you would need about 6,600 true at the output watts. Those are the 2 strings of thought I...

    Home made power LED lights

I guess I never had to weigh the panels, but the power supply is separate so I don't have that to deal with. My best guess would be about 3 pounds for each panel. they are hung on a cable/pulley system so I can raise and lower them as needed. Almost time to cut them down. they look a lot more...

Intelligent gro: How to get a supplier to fix their product?

I should have added, if you do use a timer it will turn off anything you may have set up, and revert back to whatever factory setting they have. If there is an internal timer it should turn the lights back on to where you set it. If it does not, than the light has a problem.

Intelligent gro: How to get a supplier to fix their product?

I would not put too much importance into the fans shutting down after the lights are off, and you can use a timer if you want. the fans are on a thermal sensor that takes a little time to cool, but once the power is cut off to the LED's they are not making any more heat, and will not be harmed...

Can I use this 50W LED to grow?

You can not find a good white LED that can grow anything. If you can find what LED is in there you can look up the spec sheet on it. I figure they (the LED makers) are trying to come up with a single LED for grow, but if they have I have not heard of it. If you seen the spec sheet I think you...
