Montgomery County, NC -- Investigators found about a half of a million dollars worth of marijuana during a bust Thursday night.

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office made the bust along Highway 109 South, south of Troy, around 1 a.m.

Investigators said they received a Crimestoppers tip about a grow operation in a mobile home. Deputies said when they drove into the driveway they could smell the marijuana as they got out of the patrol car.

Captain Robert George said they have suspects in mind and are in the process of trying to locate them. He said the investigation could be tied to another indoor marijuana operation they bust last week.

George said the house was rewired with timers and a watering system. He estimated the value of the marijuana to be able $500,000.
