AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been fined after he was convicted of marijuana possession by a court in New Zealand.
The Australian rock star was caught with 25 grams of the drug in October following a police raid on his boat, which was moored at Tauranga Bridge Marina in North Island.
Rudd appeared at North Island's Tauranga District Court on Tuesday and pleaded guilty to the charge, while his lawyer requested a discharge without conviction, arguing a criminal record could hinder the musician's international touring duties.
Community Magistrate Robyn Paterson refused and criticized the star for "blindly ignoring the law," adding, "It was not just an accident... You have been playing Russian roulette."
Rudd, who appeared under his birth name of Phillip Hugh Witchke, was fined $186 and ordered to pay $99 court costs, according to the Herald Sun.
