Advice needed - 1st grow 250 watt hps

hi, i have been looking around online for a good time now and decided to start a small grow. i have pretty much all the supplies and i will start soon. if you have any advice or anything i would appreciate it.

my set up is:

2'x3'x6' grow tent
4'' carbon filter
4'' 190cfm inline fan
6'' cooltube with reflector
250 watt hps/Mh
*(optional)-neon fixture with 4x20watt neon (veg spectrum)
General hydroponic performance pack (nutes)

i plan on growing two Barneys Farm vanilla kush from seed into soil.

i will use the 250 watt MH for germ and veg and the 250 watt hps for flower.

i have the performance pack box from general hydroponic thats been laying around for year, i wonder if it is still good.

The nutes should be fine. As,long as their synthetic and never reached 140°f .
Start a journal and you will have all the help you need and more than enough adivice.

I had used a 250 forever till I switched to Led.
In a controled area a 250 rocks!!!
It will grow just as good as any in a smaller foot print.
Remember at least 50 watts per square foot
Research the interweb for 250 grows
And green on!!!
