Hi again guys as some of you know previously I purchased 20 critical mass seeds from a online site after high recommendations I went through all 20 seeds a lot of them popped but no root growth or sprout after that I spoke to the company who sent me another 10 critical mass along with my new order of 13 big bud xxxl seeds well I've gone through 10 of the seeds now and barley any of them are popping and the ones that have popped don't show any tap root grow barley coming out of the shell :( this time I've been using a heated done with jiffy pellets instead of the paper towel method to germination and still no luck it's driving me nuts 150 spent on just seeds to not even have one plant sprouted is mental surely I'm not doing anything wrong in lve tried germinating and sprouting in every way with out luck all the seeds I try barley crack the shells showing he tap root and this is around 24-28 hours should I be waiting longer to get a long tap root and is me not waiting for a long tap root the reason why it won't sprout ?? I spoke to the company again who issued this response to me :( >> Hello Philip. I am sorry but we have sent out another 10 monster mass seeds at our cost already. We have not otherwise received complaints about these seeds. We are official distributors of critical mass collective seeds and so receive our seeds directly from them. We also send out a very large number of big bud xxl seeds without a single complaint. For you to experience a complete loss seems quite unlikely to be a result of the quality of the seeds. In order to sell seeds here in the UK they have to be sold as souvenirs and collectibles so we are unfortunately unable to get into discussions as to other uses

Ok so its clearly an issue on your end, i am sorry to say. But that is ok we can work through this logically.
First do you have a ph meter?
Do you have a place that is dark and around 70-80f?
What type of water do you use/have access to? hard, soft, well, city,
What do you plan on putting them in after germination? soil, rockwool, coco

sounds like your trying too hard, I soak in tap water for 1 day and keep them in a drawer in the kitchen at about 60 degrees ,then transfer to tapwater soaked cotton wool, I return them to the drawer and hey presto 95% success rate

Theres a lot of methods to germinate seeds, but I still use the simplest. Wet your soil, make a 1/4 inch deep hole, drop the seed in and loosely cover with soil. Next is the hard part. Leave it alone. That's it.

I drop them in coco approx. 1/2", put them in the oven with the oven light on for heat and within 3 days 99% of them pop. I wet the coco with 1/4 strength nutes and adjusted to 5.8 pH or so.

Hi guys right in reply to your previous replys here is exactly what I'm doing I'll start with the current 10 seeds I have in the cupboard I started germinating them in a solo cup of warm ish tap water and left them to settle for 12-18 hours I then moved them to a few layers of paper towels and covered them and chucked a few spoon fills of tap water on top of them and placed them in my heated humidity dome that runs a fixed temperature checked them just now and some have popped but barley cracked enough too see the root the others are just black/brown and haven't popped ? I've been slightly rubbing them with sand paper as well that's all I've tried other ways such as jiffy pellets I haven't got a ph tested and I am placing them in a warm dark place and I plan on planting them in a 50-50 mix of miracle grow and plain no nutrient soil

I never put my seeds
1- in water that came from the hot water tank
2- on a heated surface
I personally have a tent that is at 75f so i just stick my seeds in there in the dark and mine pop in 24 hours usuing cold tap water left to sit out till it is room temp

Hi mate well I don't know what I am doing wrong then I'm doing everything other people are doing its just getting stupid now it shouldn't be this hard to get a plant to sprout at least :/ it couldn't be something stupid like not ph testing germination water or touching seeds with my hands etc etc

Well most people dont have to do these type of extreme things, but most people dont blow through 30 seeds all dead. So you need to figure out where your problem is, because the problem is in what your doing, so if you want you can just keep doing what your doing and wasting more money on killing seeds, or you can figure out by troubleshooting every single process

Right well this is what I do Chuck the seeds in a cup of warm tap water leave them for 12-18 hours soon as they crack put them in paper towels so I don't drown them after 10 hours plus I put them in jiffy pellets and wait to see what happens all done in the heated propagator I'm checking the seeds I've put in jiffy pellets after a day or so and the tap root doesn't grow at all

warm tap water means its water from a hot water heater do not use that- problem one
I do not soak seeds in water but if you do and it cracks then you plant it, what are you waiting for the pkant is looking for a foot hold if the seed cracks get it into your medium.
I just use paper towel and soak it let it sit 24 hours and im good but my tap water left to warm in room temp is a 6.5 ph I make sure i cover it up so its nice and dark and once i see it crack or see anything i goes into the medium.
What is the heated thing? this sounds like trouble to me too warm and the seed will die 70f is plenty warm

it's a heated propagator basically a small dome with a heat Matt underneath it dosent get hot inside just warm enough for the seeds and makes it more humid I just saw another seed crack under water so I placed it straight in a jiffy pellet the others still haven't cracked maybe I'm not leaving them long enough in the jiffy pellets to grow but all the other times I've dug them up and the tap root hasn't grown just remains a cracked shell or a tiny tap root :(

A jiffy pellet is a alternative to Rockwood it's like a small disk of soil you put it under water for a few minutes and it expands into a little round thing and you place the seeds inside it and the seed can grow into a plant and the roots expand to its outside then you can transplant it to a big porno I need to let the jiffy pellet or growing medium dry out a fair bit before watering again or should I just keep it constantly damp to wet ??

ok that is good as soon as they crack put then in there if you want to improve your chances and you have access to a hydro store look for RAW- kelp, and ominA mix up some water and soak your jiffy pop in there and then put the seeds in or even better germinate the seeds in the solution also but even without the help of the kelp you want it to go into your jiffy thing which has been soaked in ph 5.5 water the roots need an acidic environment to grow

Ok mate thank you should I be giving the jiffy pellets and seeds time to dry out a bit or constantly keep them damp/wet ?? Because I've heard some one say to leave them alone and just give them a spoon of water each once a day or so because the seeds and jiffy pellet needs to dry out so the roots go looking for water and then get longer so they can go looking for the water ??
