Fayetteville, Ark. - A registered nurse out of Colorado visits Arkansas to share her experience with medical marijuana in hopes of encouraging the use of the prescription drug.

As a hospice nurse for eight years, Marcie Cooper said she's seen the power of medical marijuana with her own eyes.

She said it's very beneficial to those in need, if doctors can get past the negative stigma of the drug

"[You're] able to decrease pharmaceutical drugs that have unnecessary side effects. The stigma surrounding cannabis has been shattered because of what I've seen because it's not harmful to the patients I'm working with," Cooper said.

Her goal is to educate the medical professionals in this area about how it could benefit patients in the future.
