These days just about everything is delivered straight to your door, but once Arkansas' medical marijuana program is up and running, people will be able to get marijuana delivered as well.

On Monday, the Alcoholic Beverage Control Board decided on regulations for delivery of medical marijuana to patients and caregivers.

"This is new territory I think for a lot of people in Arkansas," said Dan Greenberg, the chair of the ABC board.
A dispensary is allowed to deliver medical marijuana to patients under the amendment.
The ABC decided that orders must be delivered the same day and only between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m., no late night or overnight deliveries.

The cardholder who ordered the medical marijuana must sign for their delivery and will have their card checked for authenticity.

ABC also looked at rules that would only allow medical marijuana to be delivered to an Arkansas residence, such as an apartment or a house.

It would prohibit delivery to dormitories, hotels, motels, bed and breakfasts or any other commercial business.
While the ABC works through their rules and regulations, Greenberg says this is just the initial phase.

"We want to make sure we hear from the public and we hear from just about all the stakeholders to make sure we're meeting all our goals," he said.

The next question is where will those of us, that need the therapy, be able to find a physician willing to take the risk of doing something that the good ol' boys, that run things, will not approve of? How many small town doctors will be willing to "write" prescriptions for such a controversial medication? My guess is less than a handful in the entire state. It seems that it will just be a system that serves the metropolitan areas and to hell with those of us that don't live there. But, I guess I could b surprised! I might ask my lady doctor!?
