Botrytis: Cut It Out Or Cut The Cola Off?

Just went outside to have a look at the garden, and noticed what looks like my first encounter with Botrytis. Not a whole lot is affected, just a small portion.

So this brings me to my question.

Shall I cut the mold out, or cut the top of the cola off? Or even worse, with the upcoming forecast not looking spectacular, should I just harvest now? Doesn't look horrible, just not the best.

Cut it out asap. It spreads like wildfire. FYI, don't touch it and check other parts of the plant (or other plants)...that's a good way to spread it.

Depends on how close to done they are....if they are milky and you are happy with the overall size, I would harvest them...odds are you will find more rot as you trim. It's a huge bummer and I lost several plants last year to it. Next season look into a preventative fungicide.

Ok, I will cut it out, then move plants into the pool room with a fan blowing on them to dry. Once dried, I will maybe harvest tomorrow morning. It has not gotten any fatter for two weeks. Only change is in hairs and trichomes. I would much rather some early buds, then no buds.
Don't hit them directly with the fan...that could help the spores spread....angle the fan to move the air near them if you use it.
:goodluck:

Hmm, earlier I had gone back and did a more thorough search. The first spot, I first noticed a dead leaf that was tight close to the bud, so I went to pick it off. That's when I noticed the mold was there.

Second location, I see another dead leaf, just as before. This time, no mold, but what looks like a web with some eggs. Noticed a few aphids on the stalk where these buds were cut from.

Any idea as to what they could be?

Applying BT as late into flower as you feel safe doing will help and I’m a big fan of bug zappers as well. The only full proof method is to construct a contraption so you can place a screen over your ladies. It must go all the way and be tight to the ground
