A search warrant served by Humboldt County Sheriff's Office deputies assisted by agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force in Alderpoint led to the discovery of thousands of growing marijuana plants, but no arrests on Wednesday.

According to a sheriff's office press release, the warrant authorized deputies to search three parcels of property on the 5000 block of Rancho Sequoia Road for marijuana.

Deputies located one structure, but no residences on the property. Just under 3,500 growing marijuana plants, ranging in height from 12 inches to 6 feet, were seized from the property. The plants weighed 4 pounds each on average. All of the marijuana was seized from greenhouse structures containing artificial lighting.

No individuals were located on the property. The investigation into who was cultivating the marijuana is ongoing.
