Two Tennessee men face charges related to marijuana dealing after they were found with 13½ pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop Tuesday evening in southern Jackson County, police say.

According to a report Wednesday afternoon from the Indiana State Police Post at Versailles, Trooper Stephen Wheeles stopped a 1995 Mazda on Interstate 65 near the 38½-mile marker for a traffic violation.

Wheeles said he became suspicious of the two men and decided to walk his K-9 partner, Kane, around the vehicle. Kane alerted on the vehicle and during a subsequent search, 13½ pounds of marijuana were found in the vehicle, police said.

Randall Sturgill, 29, of Crossville, Tenn., and Joshua Diehl, 19, of Lafollette, Tenn., were arrested and face charges of dealing in marijuana, a Class C felony, and possession of more than 30 grams of marijuana, a Class D felony.

Diehl was booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday and Sturgill was booked in at 11:04 p.m. Tuesday.

Sturgill posted a $10,005 bond at 11 a.m. Wednesday and was released. Diehl had yet to post bond.

Sgt. Trevor Wiggam and Trooper Brian Earls assisted Wheeles.
