Investigators with the multi-agency counter-narcotics alliance recieved a tip about drug activity at a Southside Tucson house.

A drug sniffing dog alerted officers about narcotics. Officers found 50 pounds of marijuana and $65,000 in cash.

On Sunday, over 7 tons of pot, with a street value of $7.5 million, was discovered by firefighters when they were called to a house fire.

Police say in the past several months they've noticed a trend of extremly large drug loads they call "super loads". That's a term for seizures that exceed 1,000 pounds.

Arizona Deptartment Of Public Safety Lt. Del Blunk works with the Counter-Narcotics Alliance.

He says, "I'm sure there's some drug dealers somewhere that are unhappy that all this is happening, but like I said, from the law enforcement standpoint, from the general public's stand point, we are happy this is happening."

Some police officials believe it's stepped up enforcement along the border that is causing this trend.
