Ducting

So, real rookie move here. I completed my tent setup and loved it, until, I realized that I didnt leave enough ducting slack to the reflector so that I can lower it to 12" above the plant. I'm looking for a fix that doesn't mean redoing it.

Can I extend the existing ducting by attaching more of it using foil tape? Or do I just redo?

Or do I just raise my pots up?

I'm using an air cooled reflector with a glass cover. 1000w HPS.

Myself, because I always try the easiest solution first, I'd try to add to the existing duct.
Not saying that's the smartest solution though

If you simply cut your ducting too short you can scab a piece on the end with what they call a "splice connector". Its a short piece of hard pipe you tape and or zip tie the flex duct onto both ends of it.

If you have metal flex ducting, it might stretch enough to reach. Raising the pots up is a good option though - easier on the equipment.

or just buy some more ducting and add this section to your collection. Over the years and different designs of the grow rooms, I have a box of those pieces sitting around in case I need them again.
