Panama City Beach, Fla. - The Panama City Beach City Council approved a six-month temporary ban regarding medical marijuana in Panama City Beach until the new state law is figured out.
The moratorium will be removed on June 1 or sooner. Those who are in need of medical marijuana and have the proper documents saying so are welcome to go elsewhere in the state to get it.
Officials say they're putting things on pause because the laws are still unclear to them, the moratorium will establish a temporary ban on growing, manufacturing and dispensing medical marijuana.
It also puts a hold on opening a dispensing facility which they say they've already received several applications for permits for.
