DWC? One plant?

A 10- to 13-gallon reservoir would give you more breathing room as far as pH shifts and water usage (transpiration).

You can never have too much dissolved oxygen in your reservoir. In addition to the air pump and air stones/diffusers, adding an inexpensive (around $23) aquarium powerhead is a good idea and will probably last for a year or two (possibly longer).

From General Hydroponics' website:

  • Mineral Recirculating Keep it Simple Program - (.PDF) Only four components (FloraNova Grow, FloraNova Bloom, Floralicious Plus, and Liquid KoolBloom)
  • General Hydroponics' Nutrient Calculator - Select your nutrient type, use "recirculating" for system type, "normal" for water type (as there is no "hard water" FloraNova component and the calculator will not give you output if you select FN and hard water), "simple" for the program level (they assume that if you had wanted "expert," you would have bought their three-part Flora series, lol), either "normal" or "aggressive" for feeding schedule (recommend "normal" unless you know your strain's nutrition requirements and have strong lighting), and enter your reservoir size & make sure that "gallons" is selected as the measurement. You may wish to change the "ounces" to "milliliters" for the product measurement type. Note that the calculator defaults to five weeks - reservoir changes, actually - in the vegetative phase (one seedling, one mild growth, and three growth) and six weeks in the flower phase (one transition, four bloom, and one ripen) but you can play with those numbers to better match your grow and the strain. There is also a button to print the table that is produced. BtW, the calculator uses the same four components but also adds FloraBlend.
