Orlando lawyer and medical marijuana champion John Morgan has promised to match donations to his political action committee on a nine-to-one match so that a $100 donation turns into $1,000 for the effort to fully legalize the drugs.

In a fund-raising effort put out by United For Care, which is pushing to get medical marijuana on the 2016 statewide ballot, Morgan declared, "For every $10 donated here, the campaign will get $100 that goes directly to collecting petitions. If you donate $100 here, the campaign will literally get $1,000 that will be used to ensure that we get medical marijuana on the ballot next year."

Morgan stated the campaign needs to spend about $1.5 million to pay professional signature gatherers to pass enough petitions to collect signatures to get the issue on the ballot.

He said the drive needs to collect another 500,000 signatures, and it costs about $3 per signature on average.

"If you and the thousands of other campaign supporters can raise $150,000, I'll give the other $1,350,000," he stated.

In 2014 Morgan and his law firm Morgan and Morgan, donated about half the $8 million that United For Care spent to get the issue on the ballot, and to campaign for it. Voters turned it down; 58 percent voted yes, but such an initiative requires 60 percent approval.

Thank you John i really hope people get out to vote this time since it is a presidential election. I hope the stats in Colorado help 100% since there seems to be bigger money against. Hopefully the facts will speak for themselves.

Now, that's exactly was is needed to get the AzFMR petition on the ballot in Arizona to prevent FELONIES in Arizona for cannabis possession.
