Florida families are still waiting for the medical marijuana treatment that they were promised more than a year ago.

They successfully lobbied lawmakers to approve Charlotte's Web - a cannabis-based oil that can help people with seizures and other debilitating diseases - and the governor signed the bill in June 2014.

The treatment was supposed to be available for patients here in Florida in January, but there have been complications putting the Charlotte's Web Law into practice.

FOX 35's Dana Jay checked in with a Central Florida mom wouldn't wait for the state to straighten things out.

She moved to Colorado with her toddler hoping Charlotte's Web would help reduce his epileptic seizures.

Find out if the medical marijuana worked for her child and what's being done to get the treatment to kids in Florida.
