A group of Dutch entrepreneurs, united under the name Legal Cannabis Coalition (LCC), wants to cultivate cannabis in the former Breda prison known in Dutch as the Koepelgevangenis, television program Brandpunt reports. The entrepreneurs and their companies have no experience in cannabis cultivation, but hope to get their hands on a large part of the cannabis market.

The Tweede Kamer, the lower house of Dutch parliament, recently decided to regulate cannabis cultivation through farming licenses.

The prison in Breda was closed three years ago and will soon be listed as for sale by the Dutch State Real Estate Company, according to Omroep Brabant. Over the next two years, starting entrepreneurs will be able to use it for a wide variety of activities.

A 50-year-old entrepreneur from Alphen aan den Rijn is the driving force behind LCC. The group plans to cultivate cannabis on a large scale and therefore have their eye on several locations.
