What are the advantages of having a Glass on Glass over just a glass bong with a glass bowl and slide but the rubber gromet?

I like glass on glass better because when it gets hot, I know its just heating glass, not a rubber piece.

Complete glass on glass pipe stems create an absolutly airtight seal. If you notice, the regular slides with rubber orings seal better when you press down on them. This means that they are not really airtight to begin with, resulting in more air in the hit and also making the pipe harder to pull. Also, glass is completely inert which means it will never create any bad tastes and is easier to clean than those nasty rubber gromets.
