Havana Gold, Nicotiana Tabacum

Finally seeing a few roots poke through the bottom of the cubes. These will be the last photos before transplanting to 4" pots. They each got some 2.5mL of half strength MaxiGro in distilled aqua today, their first feeding.

Yesterday I planted the little cannabis in a 1 qt container of leached potting soil that has way more perlite than my usual mix and put it in the cacti tent. This morning they each got 5mL of 1/2 strength Maxi Gro solution. The tobacco looks like it will very soon be ready to go into 4" pots or direct to SIP (or both maybe). They are really responding well to the Maxi Gro.

I changed my mind about putting 3 plants direct into the SIP, and I've potted them all in pint pots, with liberal application of mycorrhizae, instead. One of the HGs is in the cacti tent (under a Bestva Grow LED) while the other 4 are on my desk under a 15 watt, 5000 kelvin LED bulb.
The soil for the SIP is just a little too soggy still after leaching it so I'll turn it and let it air for another day before filling the planter. No rush now with all 5 HGs in pint pots.
My cacti grow light is about 3900 kelvin average (combo of 3000 kelvin and 5000 kelvin LEDs) with big red boost at 660nm and 730nm, and higher ppfd so growth should be MUCH faster under it.

I've decided to end the tobacco grow so this journal is complete. Being an ex-smoker it is just too tempting to have it growing in my garden and they are taking too much space. Learned a bit more about the plant I am still quite addicted to but no longer use. If I was going to smoke, it would be hella cheaper to grow my own virginia brightleaf & burley, stuff my own and say phhht! to the big tobacco companies. Very easy to grow but the cure time is astronomical compared to weed and not good for one's health at all!
