How to work out amp from amph

I am wanting to take my grow of the grid and wanted to know how to work out the amps drawn compared to the amph on the battery's.

So if I had a 600w light (240v) that draws 5-8amp what is this in amph from a 12v battery? Is this every hour?
Would it be better to up the voltage of the battery bank?
