Important Conference Announcement: MPP/SSDP National Conference
Dear Friend:

I wanted to let you know of the Marijuana Policy Project's first-ever
conference -- to be co-hosted by Students for Sensible Drug Policy --
in Anaheim, California, on November 8-10. The opening reception will
take place on the evening of November 7.

I and my colleagues, Marsha Rosenbaum and Deborah Small, will speak
at the conference, which should provide an excellent opportunity to
learn more about drug policy reform developments around the country.
The conference will include lively debates on drug policy issues as
well as much discussion on the politics of the drug war. Other
featured speakers include Dr. Joycelyn Elders, author Mike Gray,
producer Aaron Russo, and singer/actress Michelle Phillips.

In addition, the conference will feature a special panel to discuss
the results of MPP's marijuana ballot initiative in Nevada. Please
see nrle.org - This website is for sale! - nrle Resources and Information. for details on that campaign.

Please see Marijuana Policy Project | We Change Laws for everything you need to
know:

* Conference registration is $175. Students with financial need can
register for less. This price includes admission to three days of
panels, lectures, and workshops, as well as two luncheons with
featured speakers.

* The conference hotel -- the Hilton Anaheim -- has agreed to a
$115/night special rate, which is available from November 5-13.

* Southwest Airlines is offering a 10% discount on travel to the
conference.

* Because Monday, November 11, is a federal holiday, many conference
participants will be using the day after the conference to visit
Disneyland, which is one block from the conference hotel. If you
order Disneyland tickets on the Web site when you register for the
conference, you will get $9 off the regular admission price of $43.

* Display tables are only $300, and this includes a free conference
registration for one person.

Please visit Marijuana Policy Project | We Change Laws for details on all of the
above. To register by mail, specify how many registrations and how
many Disneyland tickets you want to purchase, mail a check to MPP,
P.O. Box 77492, Washington, DC 20013.

The conference starts two days after Election Day, which means we will
have a special opportunity to assess the fate of the drug policy
reform initiatives on the ballot this year in a number of states.

I hope to see you there.
