A Southern Indiana lawmaker will push to legalize medical marijuana during the legislative session.
Representative Terry Goodin of Austin said he wants to make sure those who would benefit from cannabis oil have legal access to it.
House Bill 1158 will exempt individuals and physicians from criminal penalties for possession of or use of cannabis oil if it is being used as a part of an individual's medical treatment.
Goodin decided to advocate for this bill because of the effectiveness. He said it has in treating certain illnesses.
